Paul Switzer and his wife Nancy have been involved in the auction business since 1989. Their company The Switzer Group was chartered in 1978.

NANCY SWITZER, AUCTION ASSISTANT

Involved in the auction & appraisal industry for many years, Nancy assists with the day to day operations of Switzer’s Auction and Appraisal.  Nancy is known to support the team with whatever needs “doing”, including business operations, administrative support and photography!  

SARA, CAO

Sara leads our company operations. Typically buried under paperwork and combing through spreadsheets, Sara skillfully manages our team members and is the main point of contact with government entities. Sara oversees all of Switzer’s budgets and resources.

ALEXandra, MARKETING & sALES mANAGER / auctioneer / Certified personal property appraiser

Alexandra (Alex) is located in Western Canada. Alexandra assists clients with determining their auction needs and answers questions about our services. Having grown up in the “auction industry”, Alexandra is knowledgeable about processes and requirements for our sales. Having graduated from Southwestern Ontario School of Auctioneering 1996, Alex can now be heard back on the microphone on sale days. Member of the Canadian Personal Property Appraisers Group.

Andrew, Western Sales

Also located in Western Canada, Andrew is happy to meet with clients & customers to provide assistance. Andrew thrives on building relationships.

DOUG, gunsmith / intake manager

Doug has been an avid firearm collector & auction enthusiast for a number of years. Doug has a keen eye for detail and extensive knowledge of firearms, militaria, parts, accessories & ammunition. As Switzer’s historical encyclopedia, Doug is able to effectively assist team members and customers with their requests for information.

VIRGINIA, INTAKE AND SHIPPING SUPERVISOR

Virginia leads the intake and shipping teams.  Virginia can often be found greeting consignors at the auction house door and accepting their consignments.  Virginia also specializes in accurately lotting & identifying militaria. Virginia is a strong driven individual who demonstrates leadership and great organizational skills to keep things running smoothly.   On Friday sale day you can hear Virginia “yipping” in the bids and calling them SOLD!

NICK, FIREARMS PHOTOGRAPHER / CONSIGNMENT PICKUPS & CUSTOMER SERVICE / SHIPPER

Nick has been on the road through Ontario visiting our consignors and picking up their consignments.  When Nick isn’t on the road, he is kept very busy photographing our firearm collections. As part of our shipping team, Nick also takes great care in safely packaging items for their departure from the auction house.

DWAYNE, AMMUNITION INTAKE / SHIPPER / RESIDENT HANDYMAN

Dwayne specializes in accurately lotting, and identifying, ammunition, reload supplies and reloading.  As part of the shipping team, Dwayne takes great care in safely packaging items for their departure from the auction house.  When Dwayne isn’t busy with his regular duties he has shown us his talents as being an outstanding handyman.

KIM, ACCESSORIES & PARTS INTAKE / PHOTOGRAPHY / SHIPPER

Kim specializes in accurately lotting and identifying firearm parts, sporting parts, accessories, and equipment.reload supplies and reloading.  As part of the shipping team, Kim takes great care in safely packaging items for their departure from the auction house.

CINDY, PHOTOGRAPHY / SHIPPER

Cindy is one of our photography specialists for each of our auction sale sessions. As part of the shipping team, she efficiently organizes lots for shipment by grouping purchased items and preparing them for the shipping process.

BARB, PHOTOGRAPHY / SHIPPER

Barb is one of our photography specialists for each of our auction sale sessions. As part of the shipping team, Barb takes great care in safely packaging items for their departure from the auction house.

mindy, ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

Mindy is now working remotely and assists the team with the dictation of the item descriptions for our catalog and other administrative tasks. She is a real team player!
